St George’s Hill Golf Club sits in Weybridge, Surrey, about 30 miles south-west of London. Designed by Harry Colt and opened in 1913, it is a classic heathland course, with holes running between pines and heather. It was laid out as part of the world’s first residential golf community, and the setting still feels quietly secluded.
The club has 27 holes in three nines, the Red, Blue and Green. The championship 18 combines the Red and Blue nines, playing to par 70 at around 6,300 to 6,500 yards depending on the tees. Golf Monthly ranks it 25th in its 2025/26 Top 100 for Great Britain and Ireland. The par-3 8th on the Red is often described as one of the finest short holes anywhere. Afterwards there is the red-brick Pavilion clubhouse and a Terrace bar for the 19th hole.
Visitor golf is limited to weekdays, mainly Monday to Thursday, and is subject to restrictions. Two-ball play is the easiest to arrange, larger groups can sometimes be accommodated, and a handicap of 22 or less is recommended. Brooklands Hotel, about two miles away, is the club’s own recommended accommodation, while Hilton Cobham is another convenient base.
