Royal Ashdown Forest Golf Club

Forest Row, East Sussex. A royal heathland club founded in 1888, with a bunkerless Old Course and a woodland West Course, both left as nature made them.

Royal Ashdown Forest Golf Club sits at Forest Row in East Sussex, about 35 miles south of London on the A22 between Crawley and Royal Tunbridge Wells. Founded in 1888 and granted its royal title by Queen Victoria in 1893, it is one of the oldest and most unspoilt heathland clubs in the south-east.

West Sussex Golf Club

Pulborough, West Sussex. A sandy heathland gem below the South Downs, called "this little sandy jewel set in the Sussex clay" by Bernard Darwin.

West Sussex Golf Club is a heathland course near Pulborough in West Sussex, on a sandy outcrop of heather and pine below the South Downs. Opened in 1931 and designed by Guy Campbell with Cecil Hutchison and Stafford Hotchkin, it has changed little since, and Bernard Darwin famously called it "this little sandy jewel set in the Sussex clay". Golf Monthly ranks it 62nd in its Top 100 courses in Great Britain and Ireland for 2025/26.
