East Berkshire Golf Club sits at Crowthorne in Berkshire, in the heart of the county's heathland belt. Established in 1903, it was laid out by Peter Paxton as a heathland course and has matured into a tree-lined parkland layout, with pines and heather still very much part of the picture. Top100GolfCourses calls it an unsung hero and ranks it seventh in Berkshire, with comparisons often drawn to the Red and Blue courses at The Berkshire.

Swinley Forest Golf Club is one of the most exclusive and admired heathland courses in England, set among pines, heather and rhododendrons near Ascot in Berkshire. Founded in 1909 and opened in 1910, it was designed by Harry Colt, who modestly called it his "least bad course". Golf Monthly ranks it 33rd in its Top 100 courses in Great Britain and Ireland for 2025/26.

The Berkshire Golf Club is home to two of England's best-known heathland courses, the Red and the Blue, laid out by Herbert Fowler and opened in 1928 on land once used for royal hunting near Ascot. Around 35 miles west of central London, it is a private club with a strong amateur tradition, having hosted the English Amateur Championship, the British Seniors Open and the Women's Home Internationals. Its annual Berkshire Trophy, first played in 1946, counts Nick Faldo, Sandy Lyle and Michael Bonallack among its past winners.
