The Runnymede on Thames is an adults-only riverside hotel and spa on the banks of the Thames at Egham in Surrey, ten minutes from Windsor and around 20 minutes from Heathrow. Operated by Warner Hotels, it reopened in autumn 2024 after a multi-million-pound renovation and now has more than 200 rooms, some with river views. Guests must be 18 or over.
There is no golf course at the hotel, but some of the best-known golf in England is close by. Wentworth at Virginia Water is only a few miles away, Sunningdale is within easy reach too, and the hotel itself highlights both courses on its website. Breaks at The Runnymede are all-inclusive, with breakfast, three-course dinners, spa access and live entertainment included, which suits groups who want to relax together after a round. The award-winning spa has an 18-metre heated indoor pool, a sauna, a steam room and an infra-red cabin, and there is a seasonal outdoor pool from May to September. Dining is split between the buffet Market Kitchen and Brasserie32, which serves à la carte dishes with views of Bell Weir Lock.
The hotel sits close to the Runnymede meadows, where Magna Carta was sealed in 1215. Egham station is two miles away, Junction 13 of the M25 is close by and central London is around 45 minutes away.
